I started BJJ when I got involved with my church’s safety and security program. I am now a licensed Personal Protection Officer (PPO) in the state of Texas, and I take self defense very seriously as it affect my ability to protect myself and others while on duty and off.
In addition to the self defense training BJJ has improved my health and fitness levels, greatly boosted my self esteem and confidence, improved my patience and critical thinking, as well as given me an extended family of like-minded individuals at the academy whom I really enjoy training with and spending time with on and off the mat.
I really enjoy the privilege of teaching both adults and kids. With the adults I enjoy passing on what I know about this martial art I love so much to others and see them improve in the art.
I love investing into women’s self defense to give them the tools to handle themselves in a sometimes dangerous and unforgiving world. With the kids it is just amazing to watch these shy, timid, and uncoordinated kids grow into enabled, self-confident champions ready to take on the world. Kids are our future, and it’s a privilege and honor to invest into their lives and help shepherd them toward a successful adulthood.
